The Story

I started my dried flower passion while hanging bunches of flowers, herbs and grasses in the barn for Le Mera Gardens 20+ years ago. Planting, weeding, cutting and drying was my foundation. I’ve developed this passion to now call myself a floral artist and grower. Thank you, Le Mera, for Wall Flowers would not exist without you!

Every day, I find myself immersed in making beauty, happily working in my outside workshop. The weather (whatever it may be), peeks through my wall of jasmine, roses, clematis and grapevine, as I choose each stem to join the little bouquet in my hand and wrap it carefully into a wreath or garland.

The inspiration for each piece comes from the flowers, grasses and twigs themselves; the way they curl around their stems, branch out from one another and glow with colors that astound me. Each season brings different colors and textures. I use what is grown locally from flower farms in my area and from my own beds and plots. I accept the gifts of trimmings and foraged bits of nature from friends and often come home to a stoop filled with bunches of freshly harvested fauna. I find myself constantly observing the endless beauty that is at my fingertips wherever I go. Finding beauty in nature is a way of life for me.

Vines and twigs are woven into wreath bases and dried. The flowers are hung carefully to dry and then tucked away into boxes to wait for the perfect wreath that will nurture someone’s home.
